Welcome to Ondombo, our farm has been in the possession of our family since 1963. It used to be a pure cattle farm, but is also registered as a hunting farm since 1978, since 2002 with bed & Breakfast, camping, caravan and as a guest farm since 2007.
The farm is situated 270km south-west of Windhoek, 1500m above sea level and is about 12500 hectares wide. The rough looking thorn shrub savannah that marks our habitat is interrupted by small mountains, granite, crest and drying rivers. Our grounds are populated by antelopes such as Oryx, Kudu,Steenbok, Impala, Springbok, Black and Blue Gnu, as well as Warthogs, Zebras, Cheetahs, Leopards, Jackals and various birds.
What can you experience on the farm Ondombo and environment?
Discover the fascinating animal world in a photo safari or experience the rough and impressive landscape on hiking trails or from the back of one of our farm horses. Opportunities for game and bird observations are available as well. Or how about a picnic or a barbeque evening in free game course.
Weather:
In the morning and in the evening, it can get quite cold (down to -8° C in May – August) so take a jacket (parka) and gloves. Solar irradiation is very high so sunscreen, big hats, shirts with long sleeves and sunglasses are recommended. A good flashlight can be useful, as it gets dark rather early.
